Family Group
Conferencing
Sometimes family members are unable to make decisions about their own future for themselves. Family Group Conferencing is a mediated forum which brings together family members and other key people and empowers families to make important decisions regarding the care and protection of their vulnerable family member(s).
Family led and facilitated by a professionally qualified Family Group Conference Facilitator, Family Group Conferencing is a structured process during which concerns are raised, families explore and consider possible solutions and options before before presenting their plan back to key people for their agreement.
Provided the concerns raised meet the needs of their vulnerable famiy member(s) and does not put them at risk, an agreement can usually be made and the families' plan can be put in place.
